Spring on the Lower Sacramento

3/2/12...... Ahhhh Spring! The water was low and the fishing was good and Bryan and Jim and I floated from Bonnyview to Balls Ferry. It ws a bit cool when we started out but it turned into a nice day. The guys could fish pretty well and we hooked quite a few. The magic fly seemed to be the 'Curt's nest'. We seemed to land the medium sized ones but the larger fish stayed at a distance on this day. We hooked them but they had other ideas. Bryan and Jim were both great to fish with as Bryan McMurry shared many stories from his life and his book "It' Not About the Fish". I recommend it as it was a easy and captivating read and it appears we have a lot in common.
