These fish are typical on any given day on the lower Sacramento River. Some of these photos are from the Pit River, the upper Sacramento and Hat Creek. Different places fish better at different times.

Friday evening float (3 hrs)

10/14.... Roberta is an excellent fly caster and she hit about 10 nice fish mostly in the upper river above the Hwy. 44 bridge. We got a bit of a late start and of course its all but dark by 7 pm these days. The fishing seemed to peak from 3:30 to 5:30. The hot flies still seems to be the elk hair caddis #14 (yes we had 3 big fish on a dry) the tan/dark birdsnest, cinnamon and brown Poopah, and the darker micro-may. We had quite the audience as we fought a 'reel' screamer just above the Sundial bridge.
