These fish are typical on any given day on the lower Sacramento River. Some of these photos are from the Pit River, the upper Sacramento and Hat Creek. Different places fish better at different times.

Hot Hand Tim....and Rob too.

10/20....... Rob and Tim drifted last spring and did pretty well with Rob be dubbed 'Hot Hand' This fall on their return trip it was Tim getting the majority of the action (Rob didn't do too bad either). It was a bright and beautiful fall day on the lower Sac and there were salmon everywhere. The annual spawn was on and it was a magnificent sight; 10 to 30 lb. river missles cavorting in the shallows and making huge splashes.

The big trout were close by and Rob and Tim stuck some really big ones. Both guys hooked and played 20 inch plus fish and we even landed a couple! The  biggest fish came between the Cypress St and Bonnyview bridges. Both of the big ones you see pictured above were hard fighters and took both anglers into their backing. In this case I think the really big ones got away. Both Tim and Rob lost a ballistic trout that just hit, took off and didn't look back. It was an exciting day and I think we topped the last trip so the bar is a bit high now.

Tim and Rob are good casters and fishermen and true sportsmen too. It is always a pleasure to share a day with class fishermen like Tim and Rob.
