These fish are typical on any given day on the lower Sacramento River. Some of these photos are from the Pit River, the upper Sacramento and Hat Creek. Different places fish better at different times.

The 'Curse' is lifted!

5/8..... The pressure was intense for Cole to land his first rainbow on a fly rod. Now I am not sure if these guys were pulling my leg or not (maybe Rex will fill me in) but I was told that Cole had never landed a rainbow on a fly rod. After several fish the curse was definately lifted. I ask you to look at this photo closely; Is the fish smiling? I wonder if the fish is in on the gag?

Paul was back for his second trip this spring and brought Cole along for the ride and kept the pressure on all day and was kind enough to let Cole get a few fish out of the way before catrching the biggest fish of the day (for the second time). Paul landed a beautiful 19 incher below the Sundial bridge. These guys were great on the water and we laughed and joked all day.

Good luck in Salt Lake City! Paul coaches the St. Mary's D1 Rugby team and they made the NCAA final Four!
